Highcharts Dashboards 2.0

Dashboards version 2.0

We are thrilled to announce the release of Highcharts Dashboards 2.0, our most customizable and flexible Dashboards release yet. With this new version, we’ve taken a “no size fits all” approach, giving you the power to tailor dashboards and charts to your specific needs.

We know everyone has specific requirements when it comes to data visualization. With that in mind, our improved dashboard tools allow for full visual customization and control without compromising the powerful capabilities of Highcharts Dashboards, such as centralized data handling, chart synchronization, datagrid and more.

Here are some of the key features of Highcharts Dashboards 2.0:

100% CSS styling

Dashboards and charts are now 100% styleable via CSS instead of through JavaScript configuration. This gives you complete control over the look and feel of your dashboard components, allowing you to create a visual experience that aligns with your website or application design.

Build your own layout

Ditch our layout engine and build your own HTML layout. Combine Dashboards’ new CSS capabilities and custom HTML to tailor your dashboard to meet your specific use case.  You can also utilize the power of CSS libraries such as Tailwind and Bootstrap without compromising Dashboards’ robust “under the hood” functionality  such as data handling, synchronization and more.

Here’s a demo using custom HTML:

If you want Dashboards to do the heavy lifting for you, or if you need editMode, the gui mode is still available, but now optional.

New modular architecture

Dashboards Core, Layout/EditMode and DataGrid are now separate modules. This means that you can include only the modules you need, reducing the overall size of your application and improving performance.

Simplified column assignment

We’ve streamlined and simplified column assignment, making creating and managing intricate dashboards easier. Use column assignment to  connect to a data source, then easily organize the data for clear and concise visualization across multiple charts.

Read the updated documentation and find demos on columnAssignment.

Other improvements

In addition to various bug fixes, we’ve  also improved synchronization between components by adding more synchronization options. Check out the updated documentation and new demo.

The HTML Component now accepts HTML markup as a string, in addition to the existing elements configuration object. Use whatever approach you prefer.
