Good to know

Pros:

  • Bar charts are simple to create.
  • Most people are familiar to understand and read bar charts.

Cons:

  • If the values are similar, it could be challenging to get insight from a bart chart. To solve this issue, you can use an interactive chart with tooltip or/and a zooming capability.

Accessibility

Keep in mind that you can always adapt your bar chart to be accessible, by either using a pattern fill chart or a monochrome chart.
