Ever wondered how far the Highcharts library can really go once you take the limits off?
We did. So we created Highcharts Vibes, our new home for Highcharts experiments that go well beyond the usual demo. We started building with AI as our sparring partner and kept going until things got interesting.
What came out is a gallery of dashboards and data stories. There’s 188 years of temperature records from Oslo. There’s every Norwegian baby name since 1880. There’s a map of almost 20,000 pothole repairs in New York, and an honest guide to picking a 45 km/h moped (yes, really). Many of them mix several Highcharts products on one page. The AI data centers dashboard, for example, runs Core, Stock, Maps and Grid side by side.
What happens when you push it
Most demos show a feature doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. We wanted the opposite. We asked AI to throw everything at the library: huge datasets, odd layouts, ideas that probably shouldn’t work. Then we watched what held up.
Quite a lot did. One demo puts close to 20,000 points on a map. Another lets you click any number and trace it back to the raw data. Another draws a maple tree, leaves and all, in Highcharts.
The part we’re quietly proudest of is the stuff you don’t have to think about. Accessibility is built in, so screen reader and keyboard support are there from the start. Animations are smooth. Things just feel good to use, whether you built the chart or you’re the one reading it.
A note on these demos
Most demos on Vibes are AI-generated and experimental. We haven’t reviewed or tested them for production, and we don’t want anyone thinking we have.
That’s why we’re adding an “experimental” badge to each one, along with the same note at the top of the code, so it follows along if someone pastes it somewhere else.
Go have a look
Browse Vibes, steal ideas, borrow a layout or two. When you’re ready to build something real, head to the official Highcharts demos and the API reference. Those are reviewed and supported by our team.
Found something that inspired you, or something that looks off? We’d love to hear about it.
