There are many ways to represent a country geographically, such as a geographic map and a hexagonal map.
The main benefit of a Hexagonal map is that all areas or hex cells have the same size; the users are no longer confused or distracted by the size of any area; they simply focus on the message, e.g., the number of the states by region in this demo.
