Looking for advice on a chart

Hi All,

New to HighCharts and looking for advice on making something similar to this https://img.officetimeline.com/website/ ... mplate.svg including the quarters up top. Actually, will also need months, years, etc, each on a separate row.

Data source is time-based, milestones (single date) and tasks with duration (start/end). Various categories and sub-categories associated with each. When looking at the image above, imagine being able to have Strategy category further broken into sub-categories with their own points in different rows. Some of which need to be customized markers (icons).

I've tried the xrange and Gantt charts, but the main challenges I have so far are: 1) the y axis ticks are all the same size and don't seem to auto-size to fit the series I'm trying to stuff in them - problem because some categories are small and others large 2) getting milestone labeling to "play nice" and not go outside of their category plot area - though maybe the solution to this is related to #1.

I feel like I'm missing something. Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Welcome to our forum and thanks for posting!

Unfortunately, I don't have a good answer for you. Changing the yAxis categories' heights is not possible at this moment in Highcharts Gantt. Even a simple workaround/plugin idea doesn't come to my mind. You could report a feature request on our GitHub issues tracker here: https://github.com/highcharts/highchart ... new/choose and, if it gets enough votes, we will think about implementing it.
