Conversion from svg to highcharts path misses path points

Hello,

I've created several custom map data from svg using https://highcharts.github.io/map-from-svg/ so far and never had an issue, however, now I've run into some trouble, with some points that seem to be missing in the outcome, which look fine in the svg causing either countries to overlap or holes in the map. I've used illustrator to create the svg.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Since one country is fine on every problematic point, I could theoretically manually copy the part from the adjacent country and replace the faulty part, but I would need a way to find the points in the outcome.

Hi,

This is because the map parser is parsing "s" (SVG curve command for bezier curve with 1 control point) into lines ("L"). This would work well if both shapes were drawn using the same commands - the shape might be slightly simplified, but the touching features will match. In the case of your SVG file there is a mismatch - sometimes "s" is used and on the touching side of another map feature "c" (like "s" but with 2 control points) is used - the map parser is keeping "c" as "C".

In short: the map parser doesn't respect "s" - simplifies curves to lines and your SVG has not matching shapes touching each other in terms of used path commands.
