Data.afd.fr is a dataviz portal giving life to economic, social and societal data about countries around the world, developing countries in particular. It draws on open data from the World Bank, the IMF, UNICEF, FAO, USAID to help understanding better the challenges faced around the globe. It relies on JSON data and was constructed using Python Script. It shows case application and tools which take benefit of several API to provide information always up-to-date.

Agence Française de Développement (AFD) is a financial institution and the main implementing agency for France’s official development assistance to developing countries and overseas territories.
The example is a user-friendly dashboard where the map is the central piece; a click on any country on the map will redirect the user to another web page with more details about the country’s macroeconomic indicators and economic structures.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation is a government ministry of Russia.
The map shows the regional distribution of industrial resources in all provinces of Russia for the 3rd quarter of 2016. The information is displayed by either selecting any province on the map or by using the drop-down menu (at the top left).
Notice that the map is in Russian; Highmaps as the rest of Highcharts’ products support many languages such as English, Chinese, Arabic, etc.

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is using a dashboard to display information about renewable power capacity and generation for each country. The dashboard is user-friendly as it includes a map to locate countries all over the world and stacked column charts to display the data.
Stacked column charts are best used to show compositions or comparisons; in this example, IRENA is using stacked column charts to compare the percentage of different renewable energy used per countries such as solar, wind, and hydropower.
Stack Overflow is the largest online community for programmers to learn, share their knowledge, and advance their careers.
Each year StackOverflow publishes the result of its developer survey.
The survey is visually clear and very easy to understand as StackOverflow uses interactive bar charts and maps to visualize the data collected from developers, for exmple, their geographical location, gender, experience, and many more variables.
